M2 UltraloungeManhattan’s Pink Elephant Club, ranked No. 92 on Nightclub & Bar’s 2010 Top 100, is applying for a liquor license at the space that formerly housed M2 Ultralounge, which was forced to shut down in April after allowing the sale of drugs to undercover officers, among other problems. The license is facing some backlash from residents, who worry about similar troubles arising, according to DNAinfo.


Rick's Cabaret

Rick’s Cabaret in New York City will host a “Pretty in Pink” breast cancer awareness event on Oct. 28. More than 100 women will wear pink lingerie for a 17-hour party. All cover charges and donations will benefit Living Beyond Breast Cancer, a national organization to empower women affected by breast cancer.

 


In Texas, the 21,000-square-foot City Streets nightclub in Fort Worth recently closed after 10 years of operation but will reopen as six new venues, including one dance club, a dueling piano bar, a live music area, a tequila bar and more. The venue, which remains under the same ownership, will feature one entrance, but guests can roam free throughout the spaces. Sounds like an interesting concept…


Detroit’s going retro: This month, Amnesia at the MotorCity Hotel & Casino revamped its concept to become a ’70s and ’80s themed club, with retro drinks, uniforms and events. Additionally, the club offers a candy menu — a nice twist — filled with popular ’80s treats like Ring Pops and candy necklaces.
