Newcastle Brown Ale is debuting four Newcastle Limited Edition brews throughout 2011, including: Newcastle Summer Ale, a golden beer with a citrus hop aroma and a bold, crisp and refreshing taste; Newcastle Werewolf, a blood-red ale with a bite of bitterness, distinct autumn taste and sweet beery overtones; Newcastle Winter IPA, a full-bodied, hoppy beer with authentic malt flavors and a creamy finish; and Newcastle Founder’s Ale, a traditional English semi-bitter ale with a sweet and dry finish. On-premise point-of-sale materials, such as Geordie Schooner glassware, also will be available.

The Shipyard Brewing Company is introducing Smashed Blueberry, a dark brown beer, to its Pugsley’s Signature Series line. A hybrid between a Porter and a Scotch Ale, the Smashed Blueberry has flavors of coffee and chocolate with fresh blueberry aroma and a delicate finish of sweet fruit and dry hops. Beers in Pugsley’s Signature Series include Barley Wine Style Ale, Imperial Porter, XXXX IPA and Smashed Pumpkin.

Coors Light Two-Stage Cold Activation

Coors Light is introducing its new two-stage activation technology that indicates when a beer gets cold. An indicator bar as well as the Coors Light mountain logo on the new bottles and cans will turn blue to signify when a beer is cold; a second “Super Cool” indicator bar also will turn blue when the beer is at its peak temperature.
