June is National Iced Tea month, and the summer season is the perfect time to sip on iced tea—spiked or not!
According to the Tea Association of the U.S.A. Inc., tea is the most widely consumed beverage in the world next to water, and approximately 75 - 80% of tea consumed in America is iced. If your bar or restaurant menu is lacking tea options—think again! See below for some innovative iced tea recipes to get you started.
Bend the Knee
Ingredients:
¾ oz. The Perfect Purée Pink Guava Puree, thawed
2 oz. Charbay Green Tea Vodka
¾ oz. lemon juice
½ oz. Giffard Lychee Liqueur
½ oz. cucumber juice
¼ oz. cane syrup
Directions:
Combine ingredients with ice, hard shake for 10 seconds and double strain over crushed ice. Garnish with fresh pineapple sage.
Proper Palmer
Ingredients:
2 parts Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey
2 parts Lemonade
2 parts Iced Tea
Directions:
Pour Proper No. Twelve over ice. Add lemonade and iced tea. Stir. Garnish with lemon slice.
Chamomile Collins
Ingredients:
1 1⁄2 oz Empress 1908 Gin
1 oz Lemon Juice
1 oz Chamomile Tea Syrup
Soda Water to top & a Lemon Wheel
Directions:
Shake the gin, lemon juice and chamomile syrup on ice.Strain into a chilled collins glass on fresh ice. Top with soda water, and garnish with a lemon wheel and/or dried chamomile flowers.
Gin + Ginseng
Ingredients:
½ oz. The Perfect Purée Black Currant Puree, thawed
1 ½ oz. Roku Suntory Gin
¾ oz. Rishi Ginseng Tea Syrup
½ oz. Ban Ryu Honjozo Sake
½ oz. lime juice
2 dashes Bittercube Bolivar Bitters
Directions:
Shake all ingredients with ice in a Boston shaker. Strain into a glass and garnish with mint leaves.
Woodford Porch Swing
Ingredients:
1 ½ oz. Straight Bourbon Whiskey
3/4 oz. Lemon Juice
1/2 oz. Honey
6 oz. Peach Tea
Directions:
Combine ingredients into a tall glass and stir. Garnish with a slice of peach or lemon wheel.
