As consumer demands for functional beverages and healthier options rise, matcha is a good ingredient to start adding to your cocktail menus.

Made from finely ground young green tea leaves, matcha has an earthy flavor and lends a green hue to drinks for Instagrammable moments (St. Patrick's Day cocktail, anyone?). Matcha has many purported health benefits and more caffeine and antioxidants than are typically present in green tea.

The popularity of matcha is increasing as well, with the worldwide market expected to grow by 10.2% per year for the next ten years, according to BlueCart, going from $2.7 billion in 2023 to $7.1 billion in 2033.

While many drink matcha on its own, it can be a great addition to cocktails. We've rounded up a few matcha cocktail recipes to get you started.
