Everything a First-Timer Needs to Know About Bar & Restaurant Expo

The Bar & Restaurant Expo is three days filled with education, parties, networking, and a packed expo floor. It’s key to go in with a plan—especially if it’s your first time.

Here’s what every first-timer needs to know to make the most of their time at Bar & Restaurant Expo.

Early Bird Pricing: Take advantage of the lowest prices to attend the expo, get access to education, and go to all of the parties! Early bird pricing runs through January 22, so hurry and register today!

Download the app: Designed to make your experience at the expo easier, with the app you’ll be able to search attendees and exhibitors, make connections, set meeting appointments, build your agenda, view the floorplan, and more!

Bring Your Badge! Your badge is your entry to education, parties, and the expo. Make sure it's on you at all times!

Wear comfortable shoes: The show floor is 75,000 square feet. That’s a lot of walking!

Stay hydrated: Between all of the sampling, the dry Las Vegas climate, and the walking, be sure to drink water!

Bring business cards: You never know who you’ll meet on the show floor, so make sure you have a business card! You can go the traditional paper route, or create a digital one via a QR code.

Stay charged: If you’re looking for a place to charge up your phone (or recharge yourself!), be sure to stop by the Non Alc Chill Zone (and sample some N/A drinks while you’re there), which will feature chargers and places to kick back and relax.

Transportation: Looking to get to the Convention Center? While Uber/Lyft is always an option, there are other options:

  • The most affordable way to travel is via the Monorail. Buy tickets here and check out the Monorail map to see if your hotel is on the line!
  • Also, be sure to take advantage of the Vegas Loop if you're traveling between the Convention Center and Resorts World. See the map here and buy tickets!

Make a plan:  Have an education pass? Take a look at the conference schedule and make a plan for which sessions you want to attend before you get to the show. It will make planning your days that much easier. And make sure to pack a notebook or laptop for note taking!

Also, VIP Pass holders should not there is a new schedule on Monday for workshops, which begin later in the day at 3 pm rather than the usual 9 am so you can plan your travel accordingly after bringing down the house during St. Patrick’s Day weekend!

Once you have your education schedule squared away, take a look at the show floor and decide how you will tackle it. From there, you can decide how you want to walk it. Remember, you have two days, so you don’t need to see everything on day one.

Parties: No matter what pass you have, the Welcome Kickoff Party on Monday night at Ayu Dayclub at Resorts World is open to all attendees, and if it’s your first-time at the Expo, you should definitely attend! The party is a great way to network and meet people from across the industry in a relaxed atmosphere. Just show your badge or registration email confirmation at the door to gain entry.
