Bar & Restaurant is launching a new Instagram Live series called Side Bar. Each month we’re talking with service industry veterans to find solutions, share resources and foster the community. Every session will be a little different based on the speaker’s expertise. Think of it like a free, miniature masterclass with your favorite bartenders, chefs and operators – no sign up required.
We’re kicking off the series in Austin, Texas with Robert Björn Taylor. Mark your calendars for 15 February, 2021 at 11am CT, because you don’t want to miss this. Taylor is Austin’s man-about-town bartender, one of the most recognized name in the industry. He has worked at the city’s hottest bars and is known for his hospitality-focused mindset and killer cocktails and mocktails. He was also a featured speaker in our most recent Evolve, which you can watch for free here.
Taylor is a man fueled by causes. Whether he’s promoting mental health within the industry, sharing his craft with guests, perfecting zero proof cocktails or mentoring BIPOC, he gives it his all. And people have taken notice. Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, Taylor has been working with top-name brands like Crown Royal, Assembly Kitchen, Sourced Craft Cocktails and more.

During Side Bar, Taylor is going to dive into all things networking and personal branding, including leveraging your own brand to work with spirit companies. Side Bar is related to our ongoing Evolve series, and you’ll often see the same speakers popping in for a chat. How do I Watch?
You’ll need an Instagram account to watch. After that, all you have to do is visit our profile (@nightclubbar) at 11am CT, and click our logo in the top left corner, where it says 'live'. That's it! If you follow us on Instagram, you’ll also get an alert telling you when we’ve gone live, making it that much easier to join. Once you’re in the conversation, you’re able to comment and ask questions in real time.
