Restaurant Relief Round Table Happening This Week

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) released their guidelines for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund application last week. The document details who is eligible for a grant from the $28.6 billion relief fund, how to apply and allowable use of funds – but if you’re planning on applying, you might still have questions. That’s why the Independent Restaurant Coalition (IRC) is hosting a virtual Restaurant Relief Round Table on April 29th at 3:30pm EST.

The round table, a free online webinar, will also include speakers from the SBA who will be on hand to answer questions and provide information directly from the source. Earlier this month, another IRC round table made headlines when Patrick Kelley, associate administrator the SBA’s Office of Capital Access, disclosed that there are not enough available funds to meet demand during a conversation with the IRC.

The beauty of these talks is that they directly connect government agencies to operators, so you can have your questions answered in real time. Applying for disaster relief grants isn’t intuitive. The IRC has been working closely with the government to facilitate the application process and make it as transparent as possible, but it can still be overwhelming. This free virtual series is supposed to facilitate the application process, so bar and restaurant operators can quickly get the information they need. Register for your space now so you’re prepared to apply when the application portal opens. Kelley advised operators to apply as early as possible for the best chance at receiving their grants.

If you can’t make the session on April 29th, the IRC is hosting five other talks this week to help operators prepare for the grant application, in addition to three SBA-specific discussions. For a full list of the IRC’s upcoming events, or watch previous talks, check out their website here.
