Looking to Help Your Staff? These Nine Companies are Hiring

Restaurants and bars are not the only businesses to be decimated by the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

In addition, we've seen fellow hospitality businesses—including cruises, airlines and hotels—hit extremely hard.

Arne Sorenson, CEO of Marriott, recently let go of tens of thousands of employees in this heartfelt address.

Hilton Hotels has also had to furlough much of its staff and has set up a website for those employees to find work.

The following companies are listed on Hilton's Workforce Resource Center website:

  • Amazon is looking for 100,000 employees.
  • Albertson's is looking for 30,0000 employees
  • CVS is looking 50,000 employees.
  • 7-Eleven is looking for 20,000 employees.
  • Walgreens is looking for 10,000 employees.
  • Publix, Lidl, and Sunrise Senior Living are each looking for 2,000 employees.
  • Giant Eagle is looking to fill both full-time and part-time positions

Unemployment may spike north of 20 percent after reaching record lows last year. Other options for temporary employment include pizza chains and certain essential retail/grocery stores, including:

  • Domino's
  • Kroger
  • Save a Lot
  • Walmart
  • Dollar General
  • Pizza Hut
  • DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub
  • Instacart
  • FedEx
  • UPS
  • Costco

While unemployment benefits have been modified in nearly every state to address COVID-19 layoffs, the systems are clogged, the phones are jammed, and payments will possibly take weeks. Try these suggestions as another alternative for your staff to find the necessary wages to pay their bills while we wait for the coronavirus pandemic to pass.
