Everybody knows Tony Abou-Ganim. The legendary mixologist and founder of the Modern Mixologist –known on Instagram as @mrdrnmixologist – returns to Vibe Conference this year. He will be leading an educational session on mezcal, one of the fastest growing spirits in the country. His session, “All Tequila is Mezcal, But Not All Mezcal is Tequila!” will let you taste your way through a sampling of the 30 varieties of agave, from Espadin to Tobalá and Tepeztate, and learn what makes mezcal so special.

Why is your mezcal session relevant for our audience this year?
Agave distillates, and mezcal in general, are on fire! Yet little is really known about this fascinating category.
What are some of the most relevant takeaways you want your audience to retain?
We’ll be discussing what makes mezcal unique from other agave distillates, the main differences between tequila and mezcal, and why every operator should feature, and even celebrate, mezcal on their menu.
What has been the main challenge for your business over the last year?
It’s been hard to meet with colleagues and customers in person, but Zoom helps!
Who are you looking to connect with at Vibe Conference?
Everyone! Vibe is like old home week for me! I’m looking forward to being reunited with friends and colleagues I haven’t seen in almost two years.
